Feng-Shui of Shapes and Colors
November 4, 2008 on 1:01 pm | In Snippets | No CommentsFengshui corrections are interesting and fine tuned to suit individual needs as per the taste and decor of the space in question.
The Shapes and Colors referred to during such an audit are based on the Chinese Theory of the “Five Elements”. Ideally you could take broad guidelines from the following analysis and try out some corrections on your own.
The basic five elements are Water, Wood, Fire, Earth and Metal.
Representation of these elements is not always made of any one object or material as named. We can use the shape and color or feature of an object to define its element, not necessarily the material alone.
Taking for example the color you choose for a room, if you need the element of fire than its associated color is red but you could use purple, orange, pink or even sky blue as all of these are fire colors.Mixed colors have less or no good or bad effects.
If any color is to be avoided then it should not be the major proportion of a mixed shade.
T he same holds good for shapes and features. A square object is clearly an earth element, but if something is basically square with a round section then both the earth and metal elements are present.
Judgment is the key to determine how much of each element makes up the object or color and if an undesirable one is only there in small quantities, then it can be ignored. Generally, one element will dominate and only that one is to be the one to be considered. A second may be important, but attempting to work with too many would become confusing and impractical.
Water
Colors: Dark blue, Black or Grey
Shapes: Wavy or irregular
Examples: - Dark blue curtains or fabric, black objects, Grey walls or ceiling.
Wood
Colors: Green, Blue/green
Shapes: Long & thin, tall shapes
Examples: - Plants, shrubs, trees, poles, vertical patterns.
Fire
Colors: Red, Pink, Orange, Purple and Sky blue.
Shapes: Triangular
Examples: - Real fire, candles, lights and mirrors.
Earth
Colors: Brown, Yellow, Beige and White
Shapes: Square, Rectangular
Examples: - Wooden tables or furniture, Square ceramic plant pots, tiles or brick patterns.
Metal
Colors: White, Silver, Gold and Rust
Shapes: Round, Oval, Spherical
Examples - Metal objects, Spherical or round objects.
For Example: Wind chimes and chiming clocks can be used as metal elements; as in such case it is the sound of metal that is important. A wind chime in a quiet corner which does not ring is useless as it will not serve the purpose. A chiming clock is a good remedy as the round shape can also suggest metal so can a white dial. The regularity of the chime is helpful as an ongoing cure. The #5 time star( Flying Stars) is particularly well cured by this remedy; a swinging round metal pendulum makes things even better but should not be used in the South-West direction as it may cause health problems.

When the going gets rough, what can one do?
Look around you to see if others are sailing in the same boat or do you find that you have been singled out for the rough ride. In such instance you sure can find some solution; for the answer narrows down to one person only. In case you find that others by and large are facing the same set of difficulties than the problem lies in the big picture; which by the way is not largely in your hands.
In the earlier instance you can find a solution and try to better your situation. First and foremost approach the issue; is it personal? job related, concerns home issues, relationships and so on……..
Personal issues can be addressed by searching in astrological solutions; the options available are Nine-Ki-Astrology, Four Pillars of Destiny, or Chinese Astrology.
Job related issues can be assisted by the above coupled with Fengshui solutions placed in the office or workplace. Some simple corrections could be truly helpful.
Home issues can be simply corrected by application of Fengshui cures in your home.
Complicated relationship problems need all of the above methods and a lot of cou
nseling individually or together taking the person/persons concerned into confidence.
In most instances the corrections can bring about results in a couple of weeks, one moon cycle i.e. a month or may be an entire year or even more depending on the magnitude, intensity of the problem, and the number of people involved.
In all of the above solutions the attitude, faith and mind set of the individual concerned is of prime importance.
A positive mind, belief in oneself and strength of faith can speed up the turning around of circumstances in ones favor.
All in all no matter what path you follow with the right attitude success is guaranteed.
A simple start can be implemented by enhancing the north of the home or office to allow solutions to flow in or clear way for better thinking.
- The correction can be to place a metallic/ceramic/glass decorative bowl of water with a spoonful of salt in it; the quantity of water should at least be about 250 ml or a little more and it should be changed everyday. The used water should be flushed down not used for any other purpose as it absorbs negativity.
- You can place a picture or poster of a pathway suitable size and pleasing
to look at in the north for the same purpose.
- A black or deep navy blue door mat is also recommended. All of the above or a combination of these can be used.
The Most Important Thing
October 6, 2008 on 1:44 pm | In Snippets | No CommentsOnce upon a time, long long ago in
1. What was the most important time?
2. Who was the most important person?
3. What was the most important thing to do?
He set out alone riding his favorite horse, to meet a wise old sage who lived in the forest. The journey was long and tiring; being alone he had to look for food and water; he felt feeble and both he and his horse were tired too. In a daze he fell off the horse and fainted. Some wood cutters passing by carried him to the Sage’s hut. The king had badly injured his foot and was unconscious.
After a couple of days when he came to awareness he noticed the sage was cleaning and bandaging his wounded foot. He was told that he would have to stay there for a few days. The news was not sent to his kingdom of the same as no one knew in the forest that he was the king. He looked perturbed and thoughtful all the time. The king was amazed to see the sage looked calm, serene and happy all the time.
The next day when the sage was bandaging his foot some important visitors arrived from the neighboring kingdom; they had to wait a long time till he was done and only then did the old man meet them. Later in the day the king asked the sage his three questions. The man smiled and told him that the very same morning the answers to his questions were given. He went on to explain that when the old man was cleaning and bandaging the King’s foot in the morning; it was the most important time to do what he was doing, the king was the most important person to him at that time; and bandaging his foot was the most important thing to do at that time.
It made perfect sense the King realized; he was overjoyed to get his answers and wanted to make a huge offering to the sage; but the old man had by now recognized the king and asked him to follow the three principles in performing his duties towards his subjects; that would be his reward; which in turn made him the most loved king ever.
Remember when you decide to do some thing; now is the best time. The person you are doing it for is the most important person at that time. And what you are doing at that time is the most important thing.

should not be mixed with stone crystals such as Quartz, Tourmaline, Citrine, Jasper, Cornelian etc. these qualify as earth energies.
We are taking into consideration the crystal objects made from purified lead glass. The kind of cut glass used as decorative table ware and display objects.

Mirrors have a very special appeal to brighten the interiors of living spaces and are widely used by interior designers. Placement of big mirrors to visually open up passages and expand rooms is an example of creating a feel of space expanse.
Mirrors can also create an illusion of a window or bring in a pleasing view. Such illusory décor can surely brighten up even a small work area and make it pleasing.
Wind Chimes
August 18, 2008 on 12:07 pm | In Snippets | No CommentsWind chimes have a variety of uses in Feng shui, depending on their size, material, symbols, and design. Popularly they are available in various metals, ceramic, clay, glass, bamboo and in a variety of designs and combinations of the number of rods. Both kinds; the ones that have solid or hollow tubes; have specific uses as per recommendation of the practitioners. The six and eight rod Feng shui wind chimes are the most popularly used; as these numbers are treated as auspicious.

The five rod wind chime is used as a protective charm against negative energies. Although many Feng shui practitioners recommend using wind chimes indoors, you can certainly use them outdoors, where they will attract even more energy. Ideally the placement must be such that the wind can gently tease the wind chime. Wind chimes in the East are specifically recommended by Feng shui consultants for harmony in family relations; care must be taken to use one that has a soft lilting metal musical sound.
