Health
April 9, 2008 on 11:54 am | In Snippets | No CommentsThe channeling of healing energy from its spiritual source, by a healing medium, to someone who needs it is called spiritual healing. The channel can be a person who is sensitive to energy and connected to it by some channeling method. Generally the healing energy is transferred to the patient through the healer’s hands. But it can be distant healing too. The healer is the channel
not the source of the energy. The need for a medium is not mandatory; you could channel healing energy by prayers too. The word “spiritual” refers to the divine nature of the energy, which healers agree comes from one external, invisible, intangible source. The healing energy from this loving unseen intelligence is available to all.
The body mind and spirit are but one
interdependent unit and we must believe that all three must work in harmony to maintain positive health. Any problem; physical or emotional; be it a broken leg or depression needs the touch of divine energy to restore the balance of the whole person. Remember that any imbalance; be it in the body or emotions starts in the mind.

April 8, 2008 on 1:57 pm | In Snippets | No CommentsA man of the state of Chu was ferrying across a river when his sword fell into the water. He lost no time in marking the side of the boat.
“This is where my sword dropped,” he said.
When the boat moored, he got into the water to look for his sword by the place which he had marked. But since the boat had moved while the sword had not, this method of locating his sword proved unsuccessful.

Did you know you could actually have a thief living in your house; an invisible one of course. Feng shui can help you to trace one.
- A leaking tap.
- A cross beam above your gas stove.
- A loaded shelf above your gas stove.
- A cross beam running across above your dining table.
- Bad electrical wiring.
- Faults in plumbing and drainage.
- View of a tap as soon as you enter your house.
- A staircase going down very closely next to your entrance.
These and many more features could possibly bore a hole in your pocket; so watch out.
Yin - Yang Foods
April 2, 2008 on 5:27 pm | In Snippets | No Comments“Balance of Foods for Healthy Living”
How does the concept of yin and yang relate to food? Belief in the importance of the principles of yin and yang in the diet explains that; certain foods are thought to have yin or cooling properties, while others have warmed yang properties. The challenge is to consume a diet that contains a healthy balance between the two. When treating illnesses in the oriental countries; physicians frequently advise dietary changes; to restore a healthy balance between the yin and yang in the body. For example, let’s say you’re suffering from heartburn, caused by consuming too much spicy (Yang) food. Instead of antacids, you could be likely to take home a prescription for herbal teas to restore the yin forces. Similarly, cough or flu are more likely to be treated with dietary changes than along with herbal formulations.
No foodstuff is purely yin or yang – most of the time one of the characteristics tends to dominate. That is why there is no complete agreement amongst experts as to which foods exhibit yin or yang qualities. Interestingly, cooking methods too have more of a yin or yang effect on the end products, as the list below indicates.
Yang Foods

A Recipe for Immortality
April 1, 2008 on 12:59 pm | In Snippets | No CommentsA stranger informed the Prince of Yen that he could make him immortal and the Prince one of his orderly to learn this art; but before the man could do so the stranger died. Then the prince, in great anger, executed his subject.
He failed to see that the stranger was cheating him, but taken in by his lies had an innocent citizen killed. This shows what a fool he was! For a man values nothing more than his own life, yet this fellow could not even keep himself alive, so what could he do for the prince? Why Tseng Shen killed the Pig?
One day, when Tseng Shen’s wife was going to the market, their son cried and wanted to go with her.
She wheedled him, “When I get home we’ll kill the pig for you.”
Upon her return, she found Tseng Shen about to kill the pig. She hastily stopped him.
“I didn’t really mean it,” she protested. ” I just said that to keep the boy quiet. “
“How can you deceive a child like that?” asked Tseng Shen. Children know nothing to begin with, but they copy their parents and learn from them. When you cheat the boy, you are teaching him to lie. If a mother deceives her child, he will not trust her, and that is no way to bring him up.
So he killed the pig after all.
